Chunky Whisky & Apple BBQ Sauce

 
 

INGREDIENTS:

1 granny smith apple peeled and finely chopped 

1 white onion finely chopped 

60mls of whisky or bourbon 

1 cup of ketchup 

½ cup of brown sugar 

¼ cup cider vinegar 

1 tbsp dijon mustard 

2 tsp garlic powder 

2 tsp smoked paprika 

METHOD:


Saute the onions in a saucepan to add some colour and flavour then add the apples and all other remaining ingredients. Gently simmer away for at least 30 minutes until te mixture is thick and glossy. 


You can use a hand blender to make the sauce smoother, or just leave it chunky. Either way, it tastes delicious!!
